Dear Parents/Guardians,
The 24th Edition of the FHOSQ Concours Solistes & Petits Ensembles is quickly approaching. As you may or may not be aware the students have been working on the material we will present with the Rosemount Music Department. The event will take place in Victoriaville, QC on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday April 27, 2025. We will leave from Rosemount High School by bus each morning and return in the early evening each day according to the performance schedule.
The competition will take place at the Ecole Secondaire Le Boise 605 Rue Notre Dame E, Victoriaville, QC G6P 6Y9. The bus will leave from Rosemount High School at 6:00 a.m. on both days. On Saturday, April 27 the bus will return from Victoriaville around approximately 9:30 p.m. On Sunday, April 27 the bus will return around approximately 4:30 p.m. All students must sign out from me BEFORE they leave.
I need to know who is traveling by bus and/or returning with parents. I will only release a student to return with their immediate parent/guardian. Otherwise, they will return with me on the bus on either or both days.
This is an open event so families and friends may attend. However, each person may need to purchase a participation bracelet at the registration desk for about $10.00. There will be an awards ceremony on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. and Sunday at 1:15 pm in the main auditorium. There will be a short 30 minute performance first followed by the awarding of medals for winning participants. This event is open to all.
Students MUST take their instruments and music home on Friday. The school will NOT be open on Saturday or Sunday. Food will be available for purchase in the cafeteria for lunch and dinner on both days. I recommend all students bring a sack lunch as well as a bottle of water. Students will have time to warm up before their competition time. I have all of the times. You may also check the website at www.fhosq.org for more details. All students are urged to watch each other perform and support one another.
Sincerely,
Anthony Cooperwood, Director of Bands
Rosemount High School
